Suspected Rape-Slay victim in Calumpit, Bulacan found in a 'Rice Field'

The lifeless body of a young woman was found in a rice field in Calumpit, Bulacan last August 14, 2014. It is believed that she has been raped before being killed through multiple stab wounds on her neck. Yesterday, family members were able to identify the woman as Anria “Anne” Galang Espiritu, 26 years old, a freelance model.

It is believed that Anria was raped before killed for reasons that they saw her underwear lying a few feet away from the body, with traces of blood also believed to have come from her. She was found face down, no underwear, and totally lifeless. Police speculate that the chain found close to the body was the one used to strangle the victim. A screwdriver was found as well, believed to have been used to stab her neck and nape. With the current situation of the body, all battered and bloodied, Police say it is possible that more than one person raped and killed her. Although police still have no clues as to who have done this, they are still investigating possible traces. Anria’s family is calling out to people that might have information on what happened last thursday.
