MANILA, Philippines - Filipina teenager Marlisa Punzalan continued to wow the judges of The X Factor Australia.

At 14, the shy schoolgirl is the youngest contestant on The X Factor Australia.

On the Boot Camp episode, her mentor Ronan Keating assigned Punzalan to sing "Never Be the Same" by Australian singer Jessica Mauboy.

"What we're missing is the performance element, like you bring the audience in... Just feel the song, you're Marlisa, the international superstar," Keating told her.

Punzalan said she worked hard to improve her performance. "I've been working really hard last night on my movement and I just want to impress Ronan and show what I can do," she said.

Punzalan showed she took Keating's advice to heart, when she gave a heartfelt performance of "Never Be the Same."

Woman goes Blind after 'Not Changing Contacts for 6months' 

A student from Taiwan named Lian Kao lost her sight because of keeping her contact lenses  for six months without even cleaning it.

The doctor said that Lian kept her contacts in even if she’s in the swimming pool and when she was washing. Her cornea ate by her amoebas that’s why her eye sight lost.

According to a warning issued by doctors, the case was a particularly severe example of a young person under pressure who did not take the time to carry out basic hygiene on their contact lenses.

“Contact lens wearers are a high risk group that can easily be exposed to eye diseases,” expert ophthalmologist Wu Jian-Liang told the Daily Mail. “A shortage of oxygen can destroy the surface of the epithelial tissue, creating tiny wounds into which the bacteria can easily infect, spreading to the rest of the eye and providing a perfect breeding ground.”

Contact lens prescriptions expire and contact lenses come with expiration, There are some contact lenses that can be use by months and year but Lian overused hers that’s why it affects her eye sight that caused her blind.

To prevent irritations, contact lenses must be clean by a “solutions”. Clean your hands first before holding your contacts. Remove it when you’re going to sleep and when you’re going to wash you face.

Another Filipino contestant, Mary Ann Van Der Horst , 28 years old, performed her version of "Halo" by Beyonce on The X Factor Australia 2014.

Mary Ann is a 28-year-old aged Filipino care worker whose tiny frame hides a huge voice. The judges are certainly impressed, as all four (Dannii Minogue, Ronan Keating, Natalie Bassingthwaighte, and Redfoo) are taken aback by the voice that comes out of her mouth.

 Mary Ann sings “Halo” by Beyonce on the X Factor Australia Auditions last July 15, 2014. After performing, she received  a  standing ovation from the crowd even the 4 judges did.

She was absolutely and amazingly did great. She got the 4 “YES” of the judges. Her voice was really great.

“I was not expecting this at all,” Ronan Keating said.

A substitute teacher from the inner city refuses to be messed with while taking attendance. 

   

A man died after being bitten on the chest by his older brother in Hamtic, Antique PH.

Bite mark on the chest of victim Ronnie Sisa. The bite mark was inflicted by Ronnie's older brother, Randy, during a fight.

Ronnie Sasi, 22, died after fighting with his brother, Randy, in their residence in Barangay Buhang.

According to the victim's father, Ronnie was trying to stop his brother, 

who was drunk, from punching their mother.

Randy, 32, then bit his younger brother on the chest. 

Ronnie died after the brawl while Randy was placed under arrest.

In jail, Randy admitted to biting his brother but said it was self-defense.

''Ginapos nila ako. Kinagat ko siya dahil hindi ako makahinga,'' Randy said.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of Ronnie's death.

Doctors suspect that Ronnie suffered a heart attack during the brawl.

They are also considering Ronnie's medical history. 

They noted that Ronnie had donated his kidney and was asthmatic.

Randy is currently detained at the Hamtic Police station.

 He is facing a parricide charge.

3 Filipinos on board crashed Malaysian flight

SCHIPHOL (2nd UPDATE) - There were 298 people, including 154 Dutch nationals, on board the Malaysia Airlines flight that crashed in strife-torn eastern Ukraine on Thursday, an official from the carrier said.

"There were 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board the plane," Malaysian Airlines vice president Huib Gorter told reporters at a press conference at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport from where the doomed flight had taken off.

He gave a preliminary breakdown of the passenger's nationalities, saying: "154 were Dutch, 27 were Australian."

In addition, 23 others were from Malaysia, 11 were Indonesian, six were British, four were German, another four were from Belgium, three were from the Philippines and one was Canadian.
Around 50 passengers remained unidentified, Gorter said.
Air traffic control lost contact with the Boeing 777-400 around 14:15 (12:15 GMT) near the Russian-Ukrainian border, the Malaysia Airlines official said.
Flight MH17 took off from Schiphol shortly after noon and was supposed to land in Kuala Lumpur at around 06:10 am local time, Gorter said.
Malaysia Airlines will send a team to Ukraine on Friday to help with the investigation.
Another airplane will also be made available to grieving relatives wanting to visit the crash site, Gorter said.
Questioned about the cause of the plane crash, Gorter said: "At this stage we are still looking at it from the viewpoint of being an accident."
Earlier, shocked and crying relatives were shielded from the press as they arrived at Schiphol to be taken to a special gathering area.
They were later escorted from the airport and taken by bus to an undetermined destination, Dutch news agency ANP reported.

 

Malaysia Airlines Crash in Ukraine Is Called 'Act of Terror

Ukraine's President has described the Malaysia Airlines plane crash as an act of terrorisim.Ukraine said a passenger plane carrying 295 people was shot down as it flew over the country, and both the government and the pro-Russia separatists fighting in the region denied any responsibility for downing the plane.

The village of Grabovo is currently under the control of the separatists and the area has seen severe fighting between the two sides in recent days.Malaysia Airlines confirmed that it received notification from Ukrainian aviation authorities that it had lost contact with flight MH17 at 1415 GMT some 30 kilometres from Tamak waypoint, approximately 50km from the Russia-Ukraine border. 

It said the plane had 280 passengers and 15 crew aboard a Boeing 777 that left Amsterdam at 12.15pm (local time) and was to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6.10am Friday.Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine's interior minister, said on his Facebook page the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 metres. He said it was hit by a missile fired from a Buk launcher, which can fire missiles up to an altitude of 22,000 metres.Poroshenko said his country's armed forces didn't shoot at any airborne targets."We do not exclude that this plane was shot down, and we stress that the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not take action against any airborne targets," he said. 

"We are sure that those who are guilty in this tragedy will be held responsible."

Separatist leader Andrei Purgin told The Associated Press that he was certain that Ukrainian troops had shot the plane down but gave no explanation or proof for his statement.The Malaysia Airlines plane is a Boeing 777-200ER, which was delivered to Malaysia Airlines on July 30, 1997, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online Fleets, which sells and tracks information about aircraft. It has more than 43,000 hours of flight time and 6,950 takeoffs and landings.

3 year old Baby girl wakes up on her own FUNERAL

A 3 year old girl from Zamboanga woke up on her own funeral on july 12 in a church on Aurora, Zamboanga City.
